Blue Iolite

Iolite is a transparent gem quality form of cordierite. The name ‘iolite’ comes from the Greek word ‘ios’ meaning violet. Its colour is typically light to dark blue or violet-blue, but it may also occur in light shades of yellow, green, grey, or brown. Violet-blue iolite is considered the ideal colour. This stone is very attractive in colour and is believed to be the stone of happiness and joy. It is also believed to posses Feng Shui properties which help in building relationships with others.
