Tips to take care of your precious Jewellery

Jewellery is precious and besides the monetary value attached to it; jewellery holds a lot of sentiments and memories. Even a dent or a slight scratch causes heartache. So here are few tips to keep your jewellery sparkling always.

·         Soap it off- Make it a point to clean your jewellery often. Soak it in a bowl of warm soapy water with a non detergent soap and use a soft brush to remove the dirt.
·         Have your jewellery professionally cleaned and polished every 12-18 months, specially the items you wear regularly like rings and earrings.
·         Take off your jewellery while showering or swimming. The soap or shampoo can make your jewellery slip off and the chlorine in the swimming pool can cause damage.
·         If a precious stone like diamonds in your jewellery come loose get them fixed immediately by a jeweler.
·         Store your jewellery securely but not in a single box. Instead use different boxes or pouches to keep them specially diamond jewellery.

TOPAZ
Topaz is named from the Greek word "topazion" for a type of gemstone, probably after the Sanskrit word "tapas" which means fire, alluding to the brilliance of gem-quality material. Topaz has been known from antiquity.
Pure topaz is colorless and transparent but is found in many colors and shades such as is wine, yellow, pale gray, reddish-orange, or blue brown because they are tinted with impurities. It can also be white, pale green, blue, gold, pink (rare), reddish-yellow or opaque to transparent/translucent.
Most colours of topaz are fairly common and therefore are generally affordable. But red and pink topaz are rare, highly sought after, and thus are more valuable. Among them Imperial (reddish-orange) topaz is one of the most valuable ones. The deeper the shades of orange and red in a topaz gemstone the higher its value increases. The most commonly used colors of Topaz in jewelry are the blue types.
Topaz gemstones have many properties such as, the  Golden Topaz is an energizer, the Blue Topaz helps to stimulate the throat chakra, Clear topaz is a transformative gemstone which helps to facilitate karmic clearings and soul healings.

 Turquoise Love

Turquoise is perhaps the oldest stone in man’s history. The name Turquoise is derived from the French word “pierre turquoise” meaning Turkish stone, because Turkish traders were one of the first to introduce the stone to other parts of the world. It is believed to have heavenly energy and to provide protection from negativity and a clear connection to the purity of natural elements, especially water and air.

The gem is known for its unique bluish-green or pale sky blue colour, and even the colour turquoise derives its name from the gemstone. The beauty of turquoise has been highly prized for centuries in various cultures - from Persian and Egyptian royalty to Native People in America.

One interesting property of the stone is the fact that imitations of it have been available throughout history. Sadly it is one of the easiest gemstone to imitate for which markets are flooded by turquoise jewelry and beads that are far from being genuine.

In feng shui turquoise is used for its beautiful expression of the water feng shui element. As such, turquoise is used for attracting wealth and money, as well as a cure to improve one's health and well-being.

Turquoise jewelry is extremely popular and helps in empowering the wearer’s communication and protects the wearer from negative energy. This stone when worn in jewelry like ring, bracelet or pendant helps in improving self esteem and removes depression.
