Yellow Sapphire
The
name sapphire comes from the Greek word "sapphirus", meaning
"blue". However, sapphire gemstones come in many colors and shades including
yellow, orange, pink, green, black, color-change, purple, violet, light blue,
and the rare orange-pink Padparadscha sapphire.
The
yellow Sapphire or the Pukhraj is a gem of the corundum family and is a twin of
the ruby and blue sapphire. It is available in many colors such as yellow,
golden, and orange, as well as in a colourless variety known as white sapphire.
The best among all is the lemon-yellow color. The colour in yellow sapphire
is due to the presence of iron and titanium. It is the gemstone of the planet
Jupiter and helps to overcome problems related to this planet. It denotes righteousness,
piety and truthfulness and is recommended for economic prosperity and comforts.
It is believed to help in strengthening martial relationship as well as
friendships.
The
most valuable yellow sapphires are the ones that are larger in size with good
colour saturation and excellent clarity. Yellow sapphire or pukhraj gemstone
